Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Sceptre Jiu Jitsu member app at app.sceptrejiujitsu.com. It is a private companion app for people who train at our gym — class schedule, instructional videos, member chat, and gear drops.

What we collect

From your Google account, when you sign in: your name, email address, and profile picture. We never receive your Google password, and we do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar, or anything else in your Google account.

What you enter yourself: your display name, and optionally your belt rank, gi size, and shirt size. The sizes exist so we can order gear that fits you.

What you do in the app: messages you post in chat and votes you cast on messages; how far through each video you have watched and which videos you have starred; and your responses to drops — RSVPs, poll answers, and preorders including sizes and quantities.

If you turn on notifications: a subscription token from your browser identifying the device to send to. This is not a phone number and cannot be used to contact you outside the app. Turning notifications off deletes it.

Who can see it

Other members see your display name and profile picture beside anything you post in chat. They cannot see your email address, your sizes, your watch history, or your drop responses.

Gym admins see the member list with names, email addresses and roles, and the sizes you entered — that is how gear gets ordered. Admins also see who responded to a drop and what they chose, so orders can be filled.

Admins do not see your individual watch history. Video statistics are aggregated across everyone before an admin sees them — the app can tell John that eleven people finished a video, not which eleven.

On anonymous polls: when a drop is marked anonymous, names are hidden from the results screen and admins see counts only. To stop one person voting fifty times, your response is still stored attached to your account in the database. So an anonymous poll means “the coach cannot see how you voted”, not “nobody could ever work it out”. We would rather say that plainly than overstate it.

Who else processes it

The app runs on Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database and sign-in), both in the United States. Sign-in goes through Google. Videos are hosted as unlisted uploads on YouTube and play inside the app, so YouTube sees playback the same way it would on any embedded video.

That is the complete list. We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or third-party marketing tools, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Ask us to delete your account and we remove your profile, chat messages, watch history, and drop responses. Aggregate counts that no longer identify you may remain.

Your choices

If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Email us and we will action any of it.

Children

Kids train at Sceptre, but this app is built for adults and assumes an adult’s Google account. If a minor uses it, a parent or guardian should set the account up and stay in control of it. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; tell us if that has happened and we will delete it.

Security

Access is enforced at the database level rather than only in the app, so a member cannot read another member’s private data even by crafting a request directly. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing the page.
